Frequently asked questions

Everything on how Bo the AI broker works, how anonymity and the block list keep you protected, what the live market intelligence covers, and how to get on the platform.

What is Dairy-Broker.ai?

Dairy-Broker.ai is the first AI broker built for the global dairy commodity market, paired with a live market intelligence layer.

The broker side is Bo, an AI broker who runs on WhatsApp and a web dashboard. Traders brief Bo on what they want to buy or sell, and he sources counterparties across the network, runs the negotiation in the background, and confirms deals end to end. Both sides stay anonymous until the deal is signed.

The intelligence side combines live trading activity on the platform with a wide set of external dairy market feeds. Internal prices refresh every thirty seconds. While traditional dairy reporting shows where the market was, Dairy-Broker.ai shows where it's moving right now.

Dairy-Broker.ai was founded by Rik Hanssen, who spent roughly a decade in dairy commodities at Numidia, Millbrook and Interfood as a trader, position holder, managing director and commercial operator.

Is Bo just another AI chatbot?

No. Bo is built specifically for dairy commodity trading, by someone who's spent his career in it. Founder Rik Hanssen spent roughly a decade trading dairy commodities at Numidia, Millbrook and Interfood, and every detail he picked up across that decade lives inside how Bo operates. Product specs, incoterms, origins, quality grades, delivery windows, the way deals between traders, producers, coops and industrial buyers actually get structured.

Generic AI tools like ChatGPT can hold a conversation but don’t know the difference between SMP low heat and SMP medium heat, or why EXW Ireland and EXW Portugal are different trades because of freight. Bo does. He handles real trader phrasing on origin ("German, Dutch or Belgian, anything else fine"), keeps context across long conversations, and recognises when a question doesn’t match what was said earlier in the thread.

He's a working broker built on a decade of real trading experience, not a chat interface with dairy keywords bolted on.

How does Bo work on WhatsApp day-to-day?

Bo lives in the WhatsApp app you already use. Each morning during the trading day (Monday to Friday from 08:55 Amsterdam time), Bo checks in with a short market read and asks whether you want to participate in the day. You reply on your own time, in your own words.

When you brief Bo on a position, in plain language or voice message, he extracts the structure (product, origin, quantity, price, delivery window), asks for anything missing, and goes to work in the background. While Bo is sourcing, you go back to your day. He pings you when there's something to look at, or when a match is firm and ready to confirm.

Bo handles Dutch, German, English and other languages, including voice messages, and switches between languages mid conversation without losing context on numbers, units, or your position.

On weekends Bo stays quiet. Reply STOP any time and he leaves you alone.

Can I only use Bo on WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is the main channel right now, since it's where dairy traders already work every day. Telegram is on the roadmap shortly, and a native Dairy-Broker.ai app is in development as well. The idea is that traders should be able to talk to Bo on whichever channel fits them best.

Alongside whichever channel you use to chat with Bo, your web dashboard gives you the full view of your book, your bids and offers, your executed trades, the live market, and your account settings.

Do I always need to place a firm bid, or can Bo watch the market for me?

You don't always have to place a firm bid. Bo can work for you in two ways.

The first is the active mode. You tell Bo what you want to buy or sell, with the parameters you have in mind, and he sources counterparties and runs the negotiation. This is how active traders use Dairy-Broker.ai day to day.

The second is the quiet mode. Bo watches the market for products you care about, without an active bid out, and only pings you when something genuinely worth looking at comes up. Useful for buyers who don't want a constant stream of activity but want to know when the timing's right, or for traders waiting for the right level before committing.

You can switch from quietly watching to a real bid the moment you want to act.

Do I stay in control, or does Bo trade on his own?

You stay in control. Bo never closes a deal on his own. Every trade requires you to confirm before it locks in.

When Bo finds a match and both sides converge on identical terms, he sends you a clear summary with a short confirmation window. Either party can step back during negotiation, and the trade only fires when both sides commit.

The same principle applies to your trading profile, your hard limits, the counterparties you've blocked, your watchlist. Bo only acts within the boundaries you've set. You can change those boundaries any time, in chat or on the dashboard.

How does anonymity work on Dairy-Broker.ai?

When you brief Bo on a position, the position is anonymous to the other side of the market. Bo shares product, origin, indicative price band, volume and delivery window. He never shares the company name behind it.

The other side decides on the deal itself, not on who's calling. When both sides converge on identical terms across product, origin, incoterm, quantity, price and delivery, Bo issues a clear summary with a short confirmation window. Only when both confirm does the identity reveal happen and the trade close.

This means counterparties are matched on the trade, not on the relationship behind it. Especially useful in a small market where reputations move fast and information travels faster.

Can I block specific counterparties I don't want to deal with?

Yes. The block list is a core part of how Dairy-Broker.ai works. You can quietly mark counterparties you'd rather not trade with, and Bo never surfaces them in your matches. No list shown to the other side, no notification, no explanation needed. They simply never come up in your book.

You can update your block list any time, anonymously, in chat or on the dashboard.

How is Dairy-Broker.ai different from a traditional dairy broker?

Dairy-Broker.ai isn't a replacement for traditional dairy brokers. Brokers are people. They bring relationships, history, and a feel for the market that took years to build. That doesn't go away.

What this AI-native brokerage adds is access. Bo works the entire dairy market in parallel, not just one broker's personal corner of it. Traders get visibility into deals on the other side of the world that they'd otherwise likely miss through their own network.

Speed is a second piece. Live offers come back in minutes rather than days, because Bo doesn't have to wait for phone calls to be returned. The other side is still humans, of course, but the sourcing and matching layer runs continuously.

Time zones and languages stop being barriers. Bo doesn't sleep, doesn't take lunch, and handles multiple languages mid conversation. A trader in the Netherlands doesn't miss a great deal in Poland or New Zealand because the timing or the language got in the way.

Neutrality is part of how Dairy-Broker.ai is designed. Bo matches purely on the trade itself: product, origin, price, volume, delivery. He has no preferences about who's on either side, no incentives that pull one direction over another.

Dairy-Broker.ai is built as a layer alongside the human side of the market.

How is Dairy-Broker.ai different from existing dairy marketplaces?

Dairy commodity marketplace platforms like Nui Markets (formerly DAO.EU), OpenDairy and Global Dairy Trade are digital trading places. The model is that traders log in, place their own bids and offers in the interface, and negotiate counterparties directly through the platform.

Dairy-Broker.ai operates with a different model. Bo is an AI broker who does the actual brokering for you. You text him on WhatsApp from wherever you are (or use the dashboard if you prefer), tell him what you want to buy or sell, and Bo handles the sourcing, the negotiation, and the deal confirmation in the background. No need to sit at a screen monitoring listings. You can be on the road, in a meeting, or out with the kids. Bo pings you when there's a match worth confirming.

The web dashboard gives you a clear view of your current book, your bids and offers, and your executed trades. On top of that, Dairy-Broker.ai also offers a live dairy market intelligence layer: spot prices on the platform refreshing every thirty seconds, sentiment by product, and a wide range of external feeds. So instead of a marketplace platform on one side and a separate market data subscription on the other, you have one place handling both, with a broker doing the actual work.

How is Dairy-Broker.ai different from market data tools like Vesper or DCA?

Tools like Vesper, DCA, StoneX and other dairy market intelligence providers publish data on a weekly, daily or monthly cycle. They're subscription products focused on market reporting and analysis. Vesper offers an AI commodity copilot which lets traders ask questions about the market interactively, similar to how you can ask Bo for a market read.

Dairy-Broker.ai is different in two ways. First, live prices come from actual trading activity on the platform itself, not from surveys or weekly aggregations, which means they refresh every thirty seconds. Second, the same product that generates the data also runs the actual trades. Bo doesn't just answer questions about the market, he sources counterparties, runs the negotiation, and confirms the deal.

Dairy-Broker.ai sits alongside the established reporting and futures data sources, as the live transactional layer underneath them.

What live market data does Dairy-Broker.ai offer?

Dairy-Broker.ai offers a live dairy market intelligence layer with two sides of data.

The internal side comes from real trading activity on the platform: spot prices for each product refreshing every thirty seconds, platform volume, bid versus offer pressure, trader concentration, sentiment by product, and the relationship between price and sentiment over time.

The external side covers the rest of the market: EEX butter and cheese indices, national butter quotations from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Poland and Austria, the EEX butter and SMP futures curves, the CME and SGX-NZX futures curves, GDT auction data, a calendar of upcoming price events and data releases, and a news feed on recent moves across the major exchanges.

A weekly market report and a weekly podcast complement the data with analysis on what moved, what stayed put, and what to watch next week.

What happens after a deal is agreed?

When both sides confirm the terms within the firm window, the trade locks in. Counterparty identities reveal at that point. We draft the contract, both sides receive a copy, and both sign. Each trade carries its own reference number for your records.

If only part of your original position matched, the remaining volume stays open in your book with the same reference, so a partial fill doesn't lose the rest of the order.

Dairy-Broker.ai also keeps the context from each negotiation. Hard limits you've shared during a conversation, like a price ceiling, an origin requirement, an incoterm constraint, get applied to your future positions automatically. The matching gets sharper as you trade more.

Does Dairy-Broker.ai handle logistics?

Not yet. Logistics integration is on the roadmap. The plan is to add transport coordination as a next step, so that once a deal is confirmed, the logistics side flows just as smoothly as the trade itself, from confirmed deal to clean delivery.

The mission is to make dairy trading as easy and smooth as possible end to end. Bo on the broker side is the first piece. The live market intelligence layer is the second. Logistics is next.

What dairy products can I trade on Dairy-Broker.ai?

Dairy-Broker.ai covers the core dairy commodity range, including butter (lactic and sweet cream), AMF, cheeses (gouda, edam, emmentaler, cheddar, mozzarella, cagliata, cheddar curd), powders (SMP food and feed, WMP, buttermilk powder, sweet whey powder, WPC 80, WPI 90, lactose), cream, SMC low heat, raw milk, skimmed milk, and more.

You can register as a Buyer, Seller, or Both, and update your product list any time.

What countries does Dairy-Broker.ai cover?

The current phase is European. Origins commonly traded include the Netherlands, Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Global access opens in a later phase.

Bo handles Dutch, German, English and other languages, so language isn't a barrier to working across European origins.

Can my whole team use Dairy-Broker.ai together?

Yes. Each person on your team gets their own seat with a personal view of their conversations with Bo, their own bids and offers, their own watchlist and settings.

Alongside the personal seats, there's a unified company-level view that pulls everything together: total positions, trade history across the team, and company-wide market activity. The structure matches how trading teams actually work. Individual responsibility on the trading side, shared visibility at the company level.

Who is Dairy-Broker.ai for?

Dairy-Broker.ai is built for serious commercial participants in the dairy commodity market. That includes trading houses and position holders, dairy producers and coops, processors with regular output, and industrial buyers (pizza producers, bakeries, confectionery, infant formula and similar) who use dairy commodities as inputs.

Every application is reviewed by a human before access is granted, which is how we keep the network high quality before scaling further.

How much does Dairy-Broker.ai cost?

Dairy-Broker.ai is built on a different pricing model than traditional commodity brokerage. The standard structure in the market tends to scale fees with volume, where the more you trade, the more you pay in total. Dairy-Broker.ai is structured to work fairly across different types of participants regardless of size. A small end-user buyer with periodic needs, a high-volume trading house, a coop with regular production output, each gets a setup that fits how they actually use the platform.

The first month is free, no payment details required up front, so you can try Dairy-Broker.ai without obligation.

Specifics are confirmed at onboarding, since the right setup depends on how you'll be using the platform.

How do I get access to Dairy-Broker.ai?

Applications go through dairy-broker.ai/apply. Every applicant is reviewed by a human within 1-2 business days. On approval, you receive a WhatsApp welcome message from Bo with a single-use link to set up your account, and a short orientation on what Bo does and how he handles edge cases. From there, you can brief Bo your first bid or offer directly in chat.

If there's something you don't see here, the team is reachable at info@dairy-broker.ai.
